Choosing a Word of the Year instead of making New Years resolutions is something I’ve done for the last 10 years. It apparently takes people an average of 32 days to break their resolutions (and mine were often forgotten long before that!) For me, resolutions were restrictive and prescriptive, usually depriving myself of something or telling myself how I used to be was ‘wrong’.

A Word of the Year (WOTY) to me is about awareness, keeping your eyes open to where you can apply your word in your life, every day. Which is why the sweatshirts and hoodies make such sense. Every time you reach for it in the wardrobe, every time you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror when you’re wearing it or someone comments on it, there’s a little reminder of your word. About the hoodie itself, the hood is actually wearable. (Don’t you hate when hoodies have small hoods that don’t actually fit if you wanted to pop it up occasionally?!) Ribbed waistband and cuffs with thumbholes for ultimate comfort.

Compared to a ‘regular’ hoodie, I find this much warmer. The hood and high neck keeps away the cold, keeping you super cosy. I’ve been wearing this style of hoodie for a long time and have worn mine through all four season. You can be sure you’ll get lots of wear out of yours.
